Terms

Terms of use

Last updated: 28 May 2026.

These terms govern your use of the WordSpin website at wordspin.app and the WordSpin iOS application. Together with the privacy policy and the impressum, they form the agreement between you and the operator. Use of the site or the app means you accept them. If you do not, please do not use either.

1. The operator

WordSpin is operated by Nadzeya Yashchuk, an Austrian sole proprietor based in Wals-Siezenheim, Austria. Full contact details are in the impressum.

2. What WordSpin is

WordSpin is a single-player word puzzle. The website is an informational companion; the puzzles run inside the iOS application, available from Apple’s App Store. There are no user accounts, no profiles, no social features beyond Apple’s optional Game Center, and no servers holding your progress. Everything you do in the app is stored on your device.

3. Age and account

The site and the app are suitable for general audiences and do not require an account. Downloading from the App Store is governed by Apple’s terms, including any age restrictions Apple applies in your country.

4. Premium (in-app purchase)

The iOS app offers an optional Premium upgrade in two forms — an annual subscription and a one-time lifetime unlock. Premium removes the in-app advertisements described in §5 and does nothing else. Premium does not unlock any levels or other content; every player has access to all 460 levels regardless of Premium.

Premium is purchased through Apple’s App Store and managed in your Apple ID account settings. Apple is the merchant of record. Restoration after a reinstall or device change is performed via Settings → Restore Purchases inside the app. Refund requests are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com; we cannot process refunds directly.

5. Advertising

Players who do not own Premium see two ad surfaces in the iOS app, and only these two: (a) one short interstitial advertisement after every third completed level, and (b) an optional rewarded advertisement that can be exchanged for one extra hint when the day’s three free hints have been used. The ads are served by a third-party advertising provider, which is identified in the app’s App Store privacy nutrition label and governed by its own privacy policy.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

You may freely link to the site.

7. Intellectual property

The WordSpin name, the wordmark, the website design, the app’s artwork, the curated dictionary, the level layouts, and the source code are protected by copyright and related rights, and are owned by or licensed to the operator. You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the website for information purposes and to play the app for personal, non-commercial use only. Any other use — including republishing artwork, redistributing the dictionary, or rebuilding the level catalogue — requires prior written permission.

8. Third-party content and links

The website and the app may link to third-party sites or services. We do not control those destinations and are not responsible for their content, terms, or privacy practices. Following such a link is at your own risk.

9. No warranty

The website and the app are provided “as is” and “as available”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, and we do not warrant that the site or the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither the operator nor anyone who works on WordSpin will be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, loss of time, device problems, or inability to access the site or the app, arising out of or in connection with your use of either. This does not exclude or limit liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law — for example, liability for personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for intentional misconduct.

11. Changes to the service

We may add, change, or remove features at any time, and we may suspend or discontinue the website or the app without notice. We will try to give reasonable notice of materially adverse changes by updating this page.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Austria, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, you also benefit from any mandatory consumer-protection provisions of the law of the country where you live.

13. Online dispute resolution

The European Commission provides a platform for online dispute resolution at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. We are not required to and do not participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
